Prayer of Manassé

This short text of 15 verses is supposed to be a prayer of penitence of the king de Juda, Manassé , which was, according to the Bible, among more idôlatres. However, after being made prisoner by the Assyrian S, it requested for its forgiveness and was diverted of its idolatry.

The prayer of Manassé belongs to certain editions of the Greek Bible Seventy, is included in an appendix of the Latin translation Vulgate, but is regarded as apocryphal book by the Roman Catholic church, by the majority of the Juifs and the Réformés. The orthodoxe Chrétiens regard it as Deutérocanonique.
