Prades-on-Vernazobre

Prades-on-Vernazobre is a common French, located in the department of the Herault and the area Languedoc-Roussillon. Its inhabitants is called Pradéens.

History

As of the Neolithic of the men lived on these grounds; potteries found on various sites testify to this presence there is more than 4000 years. Roman and Visigoths also occupied the places.

To the Moyen-âge the commune belongs to the châtellenie of Cessenon-sur-Orb. The Berger S of the time are transformed little by little into Agriculteur S and are devoted to the culture of the Céréale S, the olive-tree and the Vigne (1365). Farmhouses are created around the village. Starting from 18th agriculture and the vine growing intensify.

It is in 1900 that the village succeeds in acquiring its independence. Since, the village did not cease increasing with for principal economy the vine growing and the Tourisme.

Geography

Located near Béziers, Prades-on-Vernazobre with its some 300 inhabitants is a calm village sprinkled by the Vernazobres (or Vernazobre).

Economy

Prades-on-Vernazobre fact part of the 20 producing wine villages of Saint-Chinian (AOC).
