Pradelles (Northern)

Pradelles ( Pradeels in Dutch) is a common of France, located in the department of the Northern (59) and the area Nord-Pas-de-Calais.

Its inhabitants is called the pradellois and pradelloises

Geography

Pradelles is located on the Trunk road 42 which connects Hazebrouck to Bailleul, the traffic which crosses the commune (18000 vehicles/day including more than 3000 heavy trucks) comes owing to the fact that this axis is that which connects Lille to the Channel tunnel.

History

The March 18th 2006, the mayor, Jean-Jacques Vanhoost, was killed by a car whereas it crossed the Trunk road 42 on the pedestrian passage which crosses the village. Mr. Vanhoost was known to have asked for since ten years the skirting of his village by creating a deviation of the RN42.
