Prémanon
Prémanon is a common French, located in the department of the the Jura and the area Franche-Comté.
Geography
History
The orthography of the name varied during the ages, one could read Prez-Manon, Prel-Manon, Pre-Mannon or Prémanon. This name comes from Pre Manon, of the name of the provost of the abbey of Saint-Claude which, in IXe century, undertook the clearing of the territory. Moreover, certain localities of common neighbors referent with Manon: Manon (Septmoncel), Lime Manon (Lamoura), Cernois-Manon (Longchaumois).

The skating rink, the only one of the station of the 4 villages (Prémanon, Wood of Upstream, the Russet-red ones, Lamoura) and the bowling are on the place exchange of the village.The museum Paul-Emile Victor (museum on polar explorations and of the explorer of the same name) is not far from the place.
When at the town hall it is located beside the church on a monticule which dominates the village.
