Préguillac is a common French, located in the department of the Charente-Maritime and the area Poitou-Charentes.

History

Excavations

At the time of large work carried out on the commune, of the excavations were undertaken in 1988 on the site of Pédeau and in 2005 and 2006 with the localities Arnoux.
  • Pédeau : the excavations of 1988 made it possible to discover the traces of a habitat of the Age of the iron (Protohistorique) i.e. of - 800 to -400 before J.C.

  • Arnoux : in the North-West is a contemporary Neolithic site of the civilization of Little the Richard very close (Thénac distant of 3 km) to approximately 3.000 years before J.C. Only a small zone was updated, the major remaining part being located beyond the road of the moulin.
On the south-eastern part, they are traces of one occupation at the time the Top Moyen-âge towards 800 after J.C.
