Prédédouanement

The prédédouanement consists in making control by customs and the immigration authorities of the passengers and goods in port or the starting airport by agents officiating for the country of arrival with an aim of unchoking the very attended installations. Thus, at the time of their arrival, the passengers and the goods do not have to undergo any more of control.

These operations are current for the the United States and are called " United States to border preclearance". Controls are then carried out in the starting country unsaturated (Canada, Ireland, the Bahamas, Aruba, Bermuda). Thus, the passengers do not have to pass to the customs on arrival.
