Præsidium
The præsidium gold presidium (of the Latin praesidium - language in which one used a long time the binding æ for Ae in the printed texts - meaning “protection or defense”; plural in French: præsidia or presidiums ) is the name of the Executive committee of various organizations, of which legislative bodies.

The Præsidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR became official in 1936 when the Supreme Soviet replaced the executive Central committee and, of 1936 until 1991, “ president of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet ” was the title carried by true the Head of State of the Soviet Union.From 1952 to 1966, the Politburo of the Communist party of the Soviet Union was known like the Présidium of the Central committee of the Communist party . In spite of the resemblance of the titles, they were two different executive bodies by their functions.
