Power trolleys Gaston Moyse
The company Gaston Moyse started to build Locotracteur S diesel as from 1921-1922. It was based with Courneuve and equipped with many sites in North and in Lorraine, in particular in the steel-works at the time of the rebuilding after the Second world war. Its development was internationalized initially towards Germany after the installation of the Common Market, then until in the Far East (Korea with beginning of the year 70). Its activity ceased at the end of the Seventies.
In the world Ferroviaire the machines built by this company are omnipresent being given their extreme robustness. There is besides habit to say that it is this solidity which made close the company, for lack of orders… The first built machines were called animals with horns because of their particular aspect. They are one of the first marketed railway machines not being driven by the vapor.
Great series
During its history, Moyse with product two great series of industrial power trolleys.- TDE, of 1930 with 1960 approximately. These machines are characterized by their two engine cowlings round-offs and their cabin comprising of the “visors” to the top of the frontal windows. This series was manufactured of versions 32,20 and 10t, the lightest version not comprising a back cap but a Cabestan in option, with the manner of the power trolleys Berliet.
- BN, Of 1950 with 1970 approximately. Of aspect much more modern, for some equipped with a cabin and elements in Polyester.
In addition to these two series, many machines were produced for the SNCF, the such Y 2200, Y 6200, Y 6400 and Y 8000.
To also note some productions very specialized like type BL (a power trolley plate) or BY with change of spacing (called there BL with the SNCF), used for the change of Bogie S enters France and Spain.
