PowerCADD is a powerful design software 2D for Macintosh at the same time fast and simple of use.
The drawing in PowerCADD is made in a simple and natural way for a production work and effective. Its intuitivity makes it possible to be able to work immediately with without almost needing to consult the handbook. An astute module of perspective makes it possible to quickly create sights into false 3D.
Contrary to another many software of CAD, PowerCADD is a drawing tool which works on the scale, to identical of the manual drawing on paper. It makes it possible, in addition to the technical design, to work the flat tints and the superpositions and to insert photographic documents.
Recent version 7 includes from now on the management of the transparencies and the shades and integrated translator DWG in the basic module. This version is not compatible any more with Mac OS 9.
There exist many additional tools in the form of plug-in, of which very famous Wild-tools developed separately by Alfred Scott, which increases the productivity clearly. Recently, of the tools of topography are also available.
PowerCADD is compatible with many formats of which DXF, DWG *, pdf, EPS. It records directly under these formats, but also exports in PSD, JPG, PICT, SGI, BMP, png, tiff, TGA and QuickTime. These functionalities make of it a very flexible tool for use.
The productivity of PowerCADD, and the pleasure of drawing which go with, are largely improved thanks to the " Wild-Tools" (wild tools), conceived by an engineer (Alfred Scott) who wanted tools pointed for his professional use.
A French originator also, during a few years, developed an extension (Archi-x-tools) specific to the drawing of architecture; he however gave up the follow-up of his tools, which do not function any more with last the versions of PowerCADD.
New extensions are recently marketed by IpaRos: they are contributions concerning topography, the drawing of frontage and rises.
