The PowerBook (FireWire) , or Pismo is an evolution of the PowerBook G3 Bronze, or Lombard . The case remains the same one as that of its predecessor but the interior underwent many evolutions. The frequencies available pass from 333 and 400 MHz to 400 and 500 MHz, the bus system passing from 66 to 100 MHz. The video Chart, a ATI Rage Mobility 128 on port AGP 2x, is much more powerful (Apple the advertisement two to three times more powerful than that of the precedents PowerBook). They are the first PowerBook to give up port SCSI with the profit of two ports FireWire and with being compatible with AirPort. A minor evolution in September 2000 makes pass the disks hard of 6,12 and 18 Go to respectively 10,20 and 30 Go. All the models from now on were equipped with reader DVD-ROM.

It will be the last generation of PowerBook G3 before the appearance of the PowerBook G4.
