The country Pourlet is a traditional country of Brittany. One writes also sometimes Pourleth and one always pronounces. The origin of this word is not clearly established. It is called also country of Guémené-on-Scorff . It corresponds at the same time:
- at the zone where one traditionally carried the costume to the mode of Guémené-on-Scorff.
- at the zone where one speaks a Breton dialect of type bas-vannetais, the Breton Pourlet.
The Pourlet country is in the North-West of the department of Morbihan, and extends on the following communes: Guémené-on-Scorff, Plouray, Mellionnec, Lescouët-Gouarec (left southern), Silfiac, Saint-Tugdual, Priziac, Croisty, Saint-Caradec-Trégomel, Lignol, Bern, Persquen, Meslan, Locmalo, Inguiniel, Bubry, Langoëlan, Séglien, Ploërdut.
