Poulaine

See also: Poulaine (homonymy)

The poulaine is as much a Chaussure Moyen-âge (14th century) for the women that for the men.

It is a shoe lengthened at the pointed end up to 50 cm, generally raised. The end is stuffed of foam for the comfort of the toes.

The clergy rejected these shoes whose pointed end was compared to a diabolic work.
