Postulates of Koch
The postulates of Koch in their original version, and their adaptation to the molecular techniques , make it possible to confirm the role etiologic of a micro-organism in a Maladie.
Original version
-
the micro-organism is isolated in each case from the disease, giving an account of the clinical and anatomopathologic modifications.
- the micro-organism is insulated in no other disease like contaminant.
- the micro-organism can again induce the disease after it was insulated and cultivated.
Version based on the molecular techniques
-
the nucleic sequence of the micro-organism must be found in the majority of the cases of the disease.
- the nucleic sequence of the micro-organism should not be found (or seldom) at unscathed individuals.
- the nucleic sequence must be detected by hybridization in the pathological zones of a fabric or a body, and not be detected in the healthy zones of same fabric or body.
- the number of copies of the nucleic sequence of pathogenic must vary the clinical evolutions parallel to, including under treatment.
- the identification of the micro-organism deduced from the nucleic sequence must be compatible with the known biological properties for the phylum to which it belongs.
- These molecular results must be reproducible.
