Posterisation
The posterisation appears when that in an image a continuous gradation is replaced by a more reduced number of colors. That gives place to abrupt cuts of colors, as on an old man Poster.
This effect is more clearly defined under the heading Isohélie, term employed in the French version of the software Photoshop.
