The position of the lotus is a posture of Hatha yoga as well as a position used in the Buddhist Méditation. An alternative of this position is the Position of the half-lotus.

It is practiced:

  • cross legs - right foot on the left thigh, left foot on the right thigh;
  • the right back but without digging the kidneys;
  • hands resting on the knees;
  • the slightly tilted head.

To note that when the two feet are under the thighs one speaks then about position “sat as a tailor”.
