The Middle East
- War of Quintus Labienus against Rome: this Roman officer, sons of Titus Labienus and emissary of Cassius near the Parthes, convince Orodès II to invade the province of Syria. Two armies are formed. One, ordered by Labienus, takes Antioche easily and plunders the Cilicie. The other, directed by Pacor, heir to the throne, settles in Syria. After the peace of Brindes (-40), Antoine sends in Syria an army ordered by P. Ventidus Bassus, which attracts Pacor in an ambush where the young prince finds death. Syria is lost by Parthes.
