Portlandien

The Portlandien was until 1990 a geological stage of the Mesozoic (secondary era). Since 1990, the Tithonien replaces Portlandien, with part of the Kimméridgien.

It was the most recent stage of the Jurassic superior.

In the subalpine massive of the north of the the French Alps, Portlandien was represented by the Faciès Tithonique.
