Port of the Moon

The Port of the Moon is the name familiarly given to the port of Bordeaux, because of a meander of the the Garonne when it passes in the city, which gives him the shape of a crescent. It is the origin of the crescent of the Moon which appears in the bottom of the Blason of the city.

Since the month of June 2007, this part of the town of Bordeaux is classified with the world heritage of UNESCO.
