Port of Anibare
The port of Anibare is a seaport located in the Baie of Anibare on the island of Nauru.
Presentation
The port is located in the district of Anibare, in the middle of the Baie of Anibare, not far from the Hôtel Menen. It consists of a basin protected by two Break-blade S, of a slope of setting to water, points of anchorings and a room used by the Anibare Boat Harbor Community . It is used as port of fishing but also like basin of bathe by the Nauruans.
Construction
The port is built thanks to funds Japan board rising to ten million Australian dollars. Seven sites are considered but that of Anibare is retained thanks to the existence of a channel already used by fishermen who will be increased and hollowed out again. This channel was created in the Années 1970 and was used mainly by the fishermen during the dry season (from November to February) when the Vent S blow of the west. Moreover, the winds, the fishing zones, erosion and coastal morphology are favourable with the establishment of a port.The construction of the port begins in February 2000 and finishes in September of the same year. The owners are the State nauruan and the Anibare Boat Harbor Community .
