Port authority

In France, a port authority is a public corporation which jointly exerts public service missions administrative and public service missions related to commercial industrial and which is managed like a public corporation related to commercial industrial and (EPIC). It is placed under the supervision of the ministry for transport and profits, like any public corporation, of a broad autonomy of management. The port authority manages the harbor installations located within the limits of its district, which can be river or maritime. It is in charge of the exploitation and the police force of the port, work of extension and improvement, and also ensures the management of a real field which can be important

In fact the most important ports falling within the competence of the State have this statute of port authority. The other ports commercial and most important of the fishing ports are managed by a Chamber of commerce and of industry either by delegation of the State, or by delegation of the department. The other fishing ports are often managed by Municipalités or professional organizations (co-operative). The mainly affected ports with the pleasure are managed directly by the Municipalités or delegation of those by a Chamber of commerce and industry or a privately held company.
