Port-Alfred

Port-Alfred is a Ville Quebec Canada founded on April 22nd, 1918 by the industrialist Julien-Edouard-Alfred Dubuc. In 1953, it annexes the Large-Bay village. Mr Dubuc will have given his name to the city and the Saint-Edouard parish. The Saint-Edouard church is of style neogothic, and the quarter of the costs of construction were provided by a lifting of funds in London and Liverpool, in England. In 1976, Port-Alfred was amalgamated with the city close to Bagotville and the parishes of Bagotville and Large-Bay to form the town of the Bay.

In 2002, the city of Bay became part of the town of Saguenay.
