Pornographic Film

A pornographic film , also called film X is a film containing scenes where the human sex act is explicitly and deliberately shown with an aim of exciting the spectator.

X in France

For the French Cinema, such films were subjected a long time to the Censure. Today, the classification ''' X ''' is simply adopted voluntarily by the producers of certain films. However, certain films can be prohibited with less than 18 years. Prohibitions of a film to unquestionable public are carried out by the commission of exploitation depend on the ministry for the Culture and can have important consequences on the economic viability of film. Name X would come owing to the fact that one barred cross formerly the posters of censured films. It became an international convention.

At present however there in a strict sense do not exist any more pornographic films term. There exists a multitude of categories of films pornographic; some are authorized the different one prohibited in France.

Films authorized with the distribution in France

Films authorized with the sale and the hiring:
  • Films heterosexuals, professional or amateur, with or without scenarios
  • Films gay or lesbians, professional or amateur, with or without scenarios
  • Films transsexuals, professional or amateur, with or without scenarios

These categories can be declined each one according to sexual practices (fellatio, sodomy, gang-bang, fist fucking, etc) or of the specialities (fetishism, sadomasochistic-machochisme, gérontophilie, urophilie, etc).

However of many films are multicriterion, thus of many films heterosexuals incorporate homosexual scenes but only female. The films transsexuals are often catalogued like films gay or lesbian.

Categories specific to gay films

In gay films, one notes the appearance of categories retained in France as in the whole world, and in particular:
  • Pussies (young people of more than 18 years)
  • Bears (hairy and large or muscular men)
  • Ethnic (blacks, Asian, Arab, etc)
  • Muscular (studios states-uniens primarily)
  • Hardware (fist fucking, sadomasochism, urophilie, etc)
  • Uniform (nurses, soldiers, police officers, firemen, etc)

The appearance of these categories allows a diffusion more targeted to the people concerned and gives to these last the possibility of finding more easily films corresponding to their tastes.

Films authorized with the remote transmission

In France the films in pornographic matter are authorized only between midnight and four hours of the morning, on paying chains (subscription in double encoding or Pay per view) with many restrictions compared to films authorized on the sale and the hiring.

All films authorized with the sale, with like restriction the absence of scene of rape or inceste and variations of speciality.

Films prohibited in France

The fact of carrying out, of having or of distributing a film of the one of the following categories constitutes a penal offense, being able to lead to custodial sentences and fines:

The films containing of the scenes of Zoophilie do not fall any more under the sanctions of the Penal code and are distributed in France. To continuations only those are liable including/understanding of the “barbarous acts” towards the animals.

Scenes known as “traditional” of pornographic films

The pornographic films are directed in this way with an aim never of not creating frustration in the spirit of the man who looks at it, but of causing an imaginary release of it. Testimonys on the medium of X

In documentary Swedish " Shocking Truth " (submitted to the Swedish Parliament in 2000), a Swedish pornographic film producer affirms in connection with the actresses: “It is very often of old victims of rapes or inceste in childhood.” “Of course, under these conditions, one can wonder whether they choose this trade freely”. The same producer, in connection with the actors: “The men should not be emotive during. It is not necessary, for example, that they await an answer of their partner, that they are attentive with their reactions. Then, if they are emotive, they cannot really do this work. In fact, the men must be able to act like machines. ”

In same documentary former police chief who has investigation into many prostitutes and actresses of the porn declares: “I knew thousands of girls. In fact, I have more the impression to have fulfilled a function of welfare worker. They are not the same girls in the porn and the prostitution. But they have the same origins. Almost all were deceived in childhood. ”

Interview of an actress in this documentary:

However these testimonys must be given in prospect. On the one hand they are specific sociologiquement of a time and a given place, and it is difficult to collect sufficient different origins of it to have a comprehensive view.

In addition the people who take part in pornographic films or them realize consider that they carry on an activity of spectacle, and in general give their testimonys with an aim of mediatization, which can distort them.

Finally testimonys can be filtered, either in a polemical way to support the defenders or the destroyers of the pornography, or according to the relations or of the pressures which can exist in this medium, which is not tight with the other activities of the professions of the sex (see Industrie of the sex).

For example certain pornographic film actresses exerted or exert in parallel, in particular if they do not make a great career, a teaseuse activity of strip, or even of escort or " massage".
