Porge
Porge is a common French, located in the department of the the Gironde and the area Aquitaine.
Geography
Porge lays out of two Plage S supervised on the Atlantic Ocean: one with the Porge-Ocean, the other at the Naturist village of the Jenny who was created in the Eighties.
Porge is in extreme cases between the Pays of Buch and the Médoc.
History
Etymology
The commune of Porge was called formerly “Porge in Buch”, which was said in Latin Porticus de Bogio . Porticus means “door” or “porch”, and Bogio is relating to the people which are established in Pays of Buch at the time Gallo-Roman E: the Boïates, whose name will give Buch . Porge was thus “the door of the Country of Buch” when one came from the Médoc.
