Porcia basilica
The Basilique Porcia (Basilica Porcia) was the first basilica with Rome, built by the Censeur Caton Old the ( Marcus Porcius Cato ) in 184 av. J. - C., of which it carries the nomen .
It was built for legal goals and businesses by the Censeur, in spite of much of opposition.
It was held in the west of the Curie, on the ground bought by Caton Old the and occupied by stores and two private houses, those of Maenius and Titius.
Many courts were held in the basilica.
It burned in 52 av. J. - C. with the Curie at the time of the burial of Publius Clodius Pulcher (its partisans in fury installed its to rough-hew funerary in front of the Curie, which they set fire to, and which caused the fire of other buildings) , and it was probably completely destroyed this year.
