The Popular Phonographic Diffusion is a label of musical diffusion independent non-profit-making created in 2005

Principle of operation

The idea of the label is to do without the usual circuits of diffusion of discs, to reduce the costs, to propose most largely possible productions of independent, creative, committed Groupes. Exit of the principles DIY Punks, the initiative is opened to the artists of all the styles, without censure. The goal being to help the groups to produce recordings of good quality, and especially to diffuse those.

For that, the complete masters are placed at the disposal on Internet with the format Ogg vorbis in high-quality and distributed in the real-world in the form of CD-R via a network of participants without centralized direction. CD are duplicated by whoever wishes it, in two conditions: the copy must be complete and identical to the original and CD must be diffused free or in exchange of a participation not exceeding the manufacturing costs. The idea it is that no benefit is drawn from the sale of the discs

The label is composed of all those which make it live: the CD listener becomes an actor of his music while implying himself, according to his possibilities, in all the stages of the production and the diffusion. There is no chief nor of structure strictly speaking: a network in permanent evolution by which the music is spread in all the directions!
