Popstars is a emission of Télé French reality diffused on M6 of September to December 2001, 2002 and 2003 and of the September 3rd 2007 with the October 26th 2007

Principle

  • Popstars shows the creation of a group of music (Seasons 1,2 and 3) or the launching of a singer in solo (Season 4), casting until the recording of the first album. The musical fields in which the emission bathes are the Rap, the R' B and the Hip-hop.

  • Contrairement to the other musical emissions of TV-reality the public is here only spectator of the creation of the group. There is no intervention of its share, via a vote or a selection.

  • In 2003, the emission is famous Popstars: the duel and proposes a confrontation for the formation of a group of boys or of a group of girls. But she will see finally the creation of two groups. That of gaining, the Linkup and that of losing, the Diadems, with success even more limited than the first…

  • the emission returns in 2007 after 4 years of absence. It is not diffused any more in premium-time weekly magazines but in daily programs. This season was apparently a failure in term of audience in spite of the success of its gaining
