Poppy of California
The poppy of California ( Eschscholzia californica Cham.) is a herbaceous plant of the family of the Papaveraceae usually cultivated in the gardens of ornament where it is acclimatized, in particular, in France, in the area of Montpellier. It is a plant originating in the California and south-west of the the United States where it covers the vast wide ones near the forests of sequoias.

The eschscholtzia contains Alcaloïde S, in particular of the californidine. It also contains zinc.
Pharmacopeia
- Properties: antinevralgic, hypnotic and sedative, slightly antispasmodic
- Use: enuresis, psiorasis, migraine, neuralgia, insomnia, depress, certain skin diseases.
