Economy and production

Transformation

By incision of the white Poppy and, more largely, of all the fruits of the poppies, one obtains a white gum: the Opium. This one is transformed into Morphine for a medical use (it is also powerful a Analgésique used in the hydrochlorate shape), or for an illegal use (drug trafficking) in clandestine laboratories. Morphine, can itself be transformed into Diacétylmorphine more known under the name of heroin.

Use

The seeds of black poppy are used for manufacture of the Poppyseed oil used in the Oil-base paint.

Culinary use

The seed of poppy, color blue-black, is a small oleaginous seed . One finds these seeds on certain special breads like on certain cookies aperitifs. In Eastern Europe, Poland or Hungary for example, the seeds of poppy are very much used for the manufacture of pastry makings. These seeds of poppy are transformed into paste, which will be used to furnish the interior of the future cake. This one is one of national pastry makings of Hungary. In Poland, in particular in the south - in the mine field of Silesia - the poppy is almost systematically used in pastry makings.
