Pontifical mass
A pontifical mass is a solemn liturgical celebration of the catholic Liturgie. It is celebrated by a bishop according to the regulations of the Cæremoniale Episcoporum.
The prelate celebrates the mass on the Trône of his clean Cathédrale or in the cathedral of another diocese, if the permission is granted to him. The ceremonial envisages the use of various vestments such as the Chape, the Chasuble, the Dalmatique, the Tunique, the Grémial, the Burette, the Chandelle S, the Encensoir, the Amict, the Rochet, the Surplis, the episcopal Crosse, the Miter
The ceremony envisages also the presence of priests, Sous-diacre S, of Diacre S, Acolyte S and being used as mass. Vêtu of the Wrapped magna, the bishop enters the cathedral, visits the the Blessed Sacrament and goes to the Chapelle, called the Secretarium, where it attends the Tierce. At the time of the song of the Psalm S, it reads the Prière S and threads the other church vestments.

Its gloves are then taken off, and having washed its hands, it goes to the furnace bridge and continues the mass.
The ceremonies are rather similar to those of the other solemn masses; however, the bishop sings Pax vobis instead of Dominus vobiscum, it reads the epistle, the Graduel and the Gospel sitting on its throne, gives a kiss of peace to each one of its five principal ministers, washes its hands after the Ablution S, sings the special formula of the episcopal blessing by making three signs of the cross and begins the last Gospel of Jean Saint on the furnace bridge by finishing it while returning on the throne or towards the vestimentary one.
