Ponteilla

Ponteilla (in Catalan Pontellà ) is a common French, located in the department of the the Eastern Pyrenees and the area Languedoc-Roussillon. Its inhabitants is called Ponteillanais (pontellanencs, as a Catalan).

  • Church Etienne Saint: Romance church of XIe - XII {E}} century
  • Nyls, (the Nile as a Catalan) is a village of 400 inhabitants (2007), with three kilometers of Ponteilla and nine kilometers in the south of Perpignan, attached to the commune of Ponteilla.
The village of Nyls has two churches: one, of Romance origin, dedicated to Saint Martin, is very deteriorated. Work of restoration there is currently carried out. It was replaced at the XVII century by another church devoted to the Virgin.
