Pontaubault

Pontaubault is a common French, located in the department of the Manche and the area Basse-Normandie.

History

Starting from July 31st, 1944, the allied troops unloaded in Normandy succeeded in crossing the bridge which opened the passage to them towards Brittany.

The railway station, which is located on the Ligne Lison-Fraud of Brittany, is abandoned.

It is the point of junction of an old line (Avranches-Domfront) which is now a green lane
