Pont de la Liberté (Laying della Libertà)
the Bridge of Freedom or Laying della Libertà in Italian connects the town of Venice to the dry land.
It was built on a project of engineer Eugenio Miozzi going back to 1931 and was inaugurated by Benito Mussolini in 1933 under the name of Ponte Littorio. It constitutes the single access road to the chief town of the Venezia for the automobile traffic.
At the end of the second world war, it was renamed Pont of Freedom in honor of the release against the Nazis and the facists.
The bridge, which constitutes the result of the road, today a4 highway, coming from Milan and Padoue, 3,850 km is long. It offers two ways in the two directions and does not have an emergency way.
With its outlet inside Venice, behind the station of Santa Lucia since the bridge of the railroad is parallel for him, it gives access only to Piazzale Roma where is the coach station of Venice and with the garages located in the port area.
