Pont de Saratov

The bridge of Saratov () is located in Russia. This road bridge crosses the the Volga and connects Saratov to Engels. With its inauguration in 1965 it was the longest bridge of Europe (2803,7 meters).

Since the colonization of the area the need for a bridge connecting Right Bank and left bank of the Volga had been felt. But the techniques available at the time did not make it possible to cross the river which at this place makes several kilometers broad.

The bridge builds in 1965 crosses the Volga to the place where this one is tightened and connects the downtown areas of Saratov and Engels. The bridge offers several ways in each direction. Until 2002 he was traversed by a line of trolley bus now replaced by buses.

The part of the passable bridge by the ships makes up of 5 arches whose width is respectively of 106,166,166,166 and 106 meters. The Tirant of air lies between 20 and 70 meters.

The bridge is built in Reinforced concrete.
