Pont de Normandie
the bridge of Normandy is a Bridge stayed girder spanning the Estuaire the Seine, it connects Le Havre (Seine-Maritime) Right Bank to north, with Honfleur (Calvados) left bank in the south. Its overall length is of 2143,21 m including 856 m between the two pylons.
Construction
Under the control of work of the Chamber of commerce and Industry of Le Havre, work began in 1988 and lasted seven years, until the inauguration the January 20th 1995. At that time, the range beats of more than 250 m the preceding world records going back to 1994 (Shanghai), but this one will be lost in 1999 for 34 m (Tartara, Japan). It was built on the estuary of the the Seine, to 12 km downstream from the Pont of Tancarville .Its record length of stayed girder bridge was lost in 2004 with the 2883 meters of the Pont Rion-Antirion.
Structure
The structure which, essentially, is out of concrete, is an overall length of 2 141 m ; it comprises a stayed span of 856 m range, the 624 m of the center being out of metal. The concrete pylons of this span reach a height of 214,77 Mr.The apron
The Tablier of a width of 23,60 m accommodates four ways for motor vehicles, two cycle tracks like two ways for the pedestrians.The apron is composed of two parts, metal, long part a 624 m, overhanging the Seine to 59,12 m; this one is made up of 32 Voussoir S of 19,65 Mr. Chacun of them is connected to the mixed head of one of the pylons by two stays fixed on both sides of the voussoir. The remainder of the apron is out of concrete prestressed for two Viaduc S of access like for the 58 m of range contiguous to each of the two pylons.
Pylons
Composed in prestressed Concrete armed, the pylons in There-reversed measure 214,77 m and weigh 20 000 tons each one of which 11 700 Juste for the metal reinforcements and 150 for the cables of prestressing. Stays
