Pont Pierre-Laporte
The Pont Pierre-Laporte is a road Pont of the town of Quebec. It has the greatest principal range of all the Canadian suspended bridges .
It crosses the Fleuve the St. Lawrence approximately 200 meters to the west of the Pont of Quebec, between the west of the town of Quebec (bank northern) and the town of Lévis (southern bank).
It in the beginning was called the Nouveau Bridge Quebec , and was intended to be called Pont Frontenac when one retitré it in the honor of Pierre Laporte, which was removed and assassinated during the Crise of October in 1970.
It was built by the government of Quebec in collaboration with the company Parsons Transportation Group .
Its ways belong to highway 73 (Henri-Iv highway) and it gives access Quebec since highway 20, (Route transcanadienne), on southern bank of the river.
