Pont-Arnaud

In the beginning, Bridge-Arnaud is the name allotted to a concrete bridge spanning the Rivière Chicoutimi. Named in the honor of the Father Charle Arnaud, missionary.

Today, Bridge-Arnaud is a whole of hydro-electric installations and infrastructures of drinking water supply and industrial on the Rivière Chicoutimi, in the district Chicoutimi, with Saguenay, Quebec. In all, Bridge-Arnaud includes/understands a power station, a crest gate of rising, two hydrants (District Chicoutimi and Alcan), two bridges and a factory of filtration. These installations were touched hard by the Déluge of Saguenay in 1996.

History

In 1912, the power station of Bridge-Arneau was the first electrical installation on the Rivière Chicoutimi.

Localization

Pont-Arnaud is located at five kilometers of the mouth of the Rivière Chicoutimi.
