Pond of the Forging mills (Belfort)
The pond of the Forging mills is a Lac on the communes of Belfort and Offemont. Before being a lake, the pond was more one marsh that a true stretch of water.
It contains an important layer of vase. The depth of the lake is low, of one to two meters. A project of désenvasement over several years is being studied. The lake could then become baignable, as well as the Lac of Malsaucy.

Economic activities
Formerly, of the forging mills were close to the pond. Today only the Dairy and the cheese dairy located at the south of the pond make use of the water of the lake for its activity. It produces in particular yoghourts and of Cancoillote, cheese typical of Franche-Comté. The nautical Base proposes boards with veil and Voilier S for associations and the schools.

Many fishermen practice their activity on the edges of the pond of the Forging mills. A very appreciated walk of Belfortains of 4 km is arranged around the pond.
