List districts
The districts of Marseilles were created by decree 46-2285 of October 18th, 1946. Contrary to Paris and Lyon which has “town halls of district” in each district, Marseilles is cut out in 8 “sectors” including/understanding 2 districts each one since 1987. There are thus 8 “town halls of sector” to Marseilles whereas there are 9 “town halls of district” with Lyon and 20 with Paris. 7th and 8th sectors are commonly called " Nord" districts;.
