Polysyndète
A polysyndète is a mode of Liaison consisting in putting a Coordinating conjuction at the beginning of each member sentence (S), generally whereas it is not there necessary. It is about a stylistic device which makes it possible to slow down the rate/rhythm of the prosody, or to give him a solemn air.
Example: quotation of Rimbaud " One evening, I sat the Beauty on my knees. − And I found it bitter. − And I have it injuriée."
One generally opposes it to the Asyndète, a sequence of proposals without coordinating conjuction.
