Polymerization
One calls polymerization the chemical reaction or the process allowing the synthesis of a Polymère starting from Monomère S. produces It obtained is a synthetic polymer, like the Polyéthylène, in opposition to a polymer of natural origin, for example the Cellulose. Polymerization is a reaction which, from molecular molecules of low mass (monomers), form by the connections of those, of composed of high molecular mass (macromolecules)
Polymers: says itself of a body formed by polymerization
Examples of polymerizations:
The various chemical reactions usable to carry out the synthesis of polymers gather in two families
-
polymerizations by stage or Polycondensation S,
- polymerizations in chain or Polyaddition S.
----
In Textile industry polymerization is the chemical process by which resins or plastics are fixed at textile matters by means of heat.
