Polyethylene naphtalate

See also: PEN

The Polyéthylène naphtalate (PEN) is a saturated Polyester chemically comparable with the FART but more resistant to the temperatures. Only currently available in the form of thermically stabilized films and with biaxial orientation, they are colorless, semicrystalline, either clear like the crystal, or slightly opaque. Compared with their FART equivalents, they start to narrow in a meaning way with 190 °C instead of 130 °C and are approved for a use electric in the long run with 155°C instead of 105/130°C. If their tensile strength is similar, the module of films of PEN is raised more, from approximately 25% with room temperature but definitely higher in the zone 100-150°C. HOWEVER
