Polonnâruvâ

Polonnâruvâ is one of the sites of the cultural triangle and one of the old capitals of Sri Lanka. It was the seat of the capacity of the Singhalese kings of eleventh at the thirteenth century.

The site

The site of Polonnaruva extends on approximately 122 hectares and present from many monuments preserved still well. In a general way, the architectural style is marked there by the Hindu influence. the majority of the monuments are with religious vocation but there remain also vestiges of temporal monuments like the room of the royal council. the site even is divided into several under-sites.

Gall Vihariya

Gall vihariya makes the celebrity of Polonnaruva. They are three large Bouddha S carved in a rock face.
