Political economy of the religions

The political economy of the religions is one of the most recent fields of political sciences.

Main themes of study

All that is in connection with the teaching of the religions and the religious practices having contents and a message policies, in particular the point of view of the religion on the modes of governorship, capacity, political authority, the State, the political organization, the war, peace, etc

All that is in report/ratio with the religious behaviors and practical not having contents and of message direct policies but having direct political consequences like the construction of religious buildings, pilgrimages, etc Positions of the political actors in a strict sense with respect to the religion and the religious communities. For example, positions of the political parties and the lobbies towards the religion and the religious communities.

All that is in connection with the behavior of the secular company which does not have a religious motivation but which however has religious consequences. For example: so in a multiconfessionnelle company the members of a religious community take possession of an economic monopoly that involves necessarily political consequences. These fields of studies are under development constant.

Development

The political economy of the religions is studied in almost all the universities and departments of political science in the United States. The American Association of political sciences has a section “Religion and policy”.

In Europe, there is a development of this discipline. For Balkans and Eastern Europe it is in Belgrade (Serbia) that in 1993 a department of political economy of the religions opened for the first time.

The review the Political economy of the religions, the first in the world, biannual, was published in Belgrade in February 2007 by the Center of studies of the religions and the religious tolerance. The editor as a chief and inspirer of this newspaper is Miroljub Jevtic, professor with the faculty of political sciences of the university of Belgrade.
