Polish unified working party

The working Parti unified Polish (in Polish, Polska Zjednoczona Partia Robotnicza , PZPR) is the old Communist party which exerted the power under the mode of the Popular republic of Poland (in Polish, Polska Rzeczpospolta Ludowa , PRL) of 1948 with 1989.

15 with the December 22nd 1948, the Left working Polish (PR) and the Polish Socialist party (PS) joined and formed the Polish unified working Party, on the initiative of Stalin.

The PS, anti-Soviet had been infiltrated by the Communists pro-soviétques, because its influence could make opposition to the influence of the the USSR. A fusion with PR was thus effective means of liquidating its influence.

The Democratic party and the plain Popular party as for them were used like development of the PZPR.

Time of the Popular republic of Poland, the first secretary of the party was the most important personality of the State.

After the fall of the Eastern bloc, it was dissolves in 1990. Several of its members creating the SDRP, a democratic, liberal and respectful party social of the human rights, replaced today by SLD.

Adam Schaff was regarded as its ideologist.
