Policeman

General presentation

Legal enabling

After an examination, it can acquire the qualification of Judiciary police officer defined in article 16 of the Criminal procedure code.

The policeman is the first ranks of the body of framing and application. This body include/understand 4 ranks and 3 names.-
Pupil Policeman (name during the 12 months of school)
- training Policeman (name of the policeman during its 1st year after the school)

- Lance-corporal of Police force (recognition of the policeman being 12 years old of service)

Before their establishment and during their formation, the policemen pass by two levels one duration one year each one: raise policeman then training policeman. The policemen having worked twelve years after their establishment are called " under-brigadiers" and carry a particular badge.
The policeman will be able to go up in the hierarchy thanks to examens.
He will be able to also try the internal competitions of Police officer or Commissaire.
Recruitment
The policemen are recruited by two distinct contests:
- the first contest is opened to the candidates, to holders of the baccalaureat or an equivalent diploma, at least seventeen years old and thirty-five years with more at January 1st of the year of the contest and French nationality;
- the second contest is, within the limit of 40% of the employment offered to recruitment, opened:
- with the associated safety at least cash two years of service in this quality;
- with the juniors by the Republic at the conclusion of their one year initial professional training.
; Conditions of physical capacity
- Of size: to measure at least 1,60 m;
- Of vision: after correction, at least equal to 15 tenth for the two eyes, with a minimum of 5 tenth for an eye, each corrective lens or lens having a maximum of three dioptres to reach this limit of 15 tenth;
- Of weight: to have an index of body mass ranging between 21 and 30, terminals included;
- physical Good condition.

- To have virgin police records;
- To be listed and to have achieved the day of call of preparation with defense, JAPD (candidates born after the 12/31/1978).
; Tests of the contest
- composition on a subject of topicality allowing to judge the coherence of the reasoning and the quality of expression of the candidate;
- multiple-choice questionnaire allowing to appreciate the interest of the candidate for the events which make the topicality as its general level of knowledge in relation to the French and European political framework institutional, the rules of the behavior citizen and the whole of the basic concepts in the school disciplines;
- psychotechnical tests;
- discussion with a jury;
- physical tests;
- oral test in foreign language (allowed languages: German, English, Arab, Spanish and Italian).
