Police superintendent (France)
In France, the police superintendents constitute the body design and of direction of the national police force. It is defined like a " technical body higher than vocation interministérielle" by.
The police chiefs have the operational responsibility for the services of the National police force and have authority on the personnel affected in those. They act within the framework of the orientations fixed by the Ministry for the Interior.
They also exert functions of magistrate (Officer of the public ministry in the Police courts) and are equipped with the behavior of uniform.
Ranks
The body of design and direction includes/understands two ranks:- Police superintendent
- Police chief of police force
The police chiefs can also be named with uses of directions which confer the statute of senior official to them:
- General inspector
- Directing General inspector
- of the active services
Trades
There does not exist a trade but of the trades of police superintendent.He can be an affected general practitioner in a district of public safety. He then has the load of the questions of security on the territory of one or several communes. He can also be specialized in the principal fields of intervention of the national police force, namely the investigation, the information, the police force at the borders and the maintenance of law and order. Recruitment
There exist four access roads to the body of the Police superintendents.-
the external contest (50% of a promotion of pupils police chiefs) opened to the students of French nationality having obtained a master (Bac+5) 35 years old at more the year of the contest.

the internal competition (20% of a promotion) opened with the agents of the public office and to the soldiers cash 4 years of establishment and 44 years old at more the year of the contest.

the professional access road (20% of a promotion) opened to the civils servant of the Body of command having at least the rank of captain, counting at least 2 years of seniority in this rank and 40 years old to more at January 1st of the year of their recruitment.

the access to the choice on a proposal from a special subcommittee of selection (10% of a promotion) opened to the police commanders being two years old of actual service in their rank at January 1st of the year of their recruitment and 45 years old to more on this date.
At the conclusion of this phase of recruitment, the pupil-police chiefs follow a one two years duration initial training within the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of the police force, with Saint-Cyr-with-Mount-with Or (69).
