The post of Police chief and Administrator ( Office off To commission and Administrator ) was abolished in 1918 to become Gold Commissioner , person in charge in front of the ministry for the federal interior.

In 1948, the title “Chief executive” is become again “Police chief”. It is only into 1978 that Yukon obtained a government with a “Leader of the government” Government Leader now appointed Prime Minister with devolution of the capacities which the Police chief had.
