Pole position

In the mechanical sports on circuit, a pilot has a pole position when it starts the race on the first place of the grid. This term comes from the horse-races until being made its way until the vocabulary of the automobile race. The position knew the grid is generally determined by a session of separate qualification where the pilots seek to make the fastest turn or by their position with the preceding race.

This term gave its name has two video games: Pole Position and Pole Position II .
