Polar solvent aprotic
The aprotic polar solvents are solvents having one dipole moment, but not hydrogen related to a heteroatom.
Property
Because of presence of heteroatoms, these compounds are acceptors of hydrogen bonds, but the acid absence of hydrogen does not give character to them donor: they can form hydrogen bonds only with compounds acid. This influences much their solvation of compounds ionic, which in fact of solvents of Cation S, the Anion is not solvate in solution, therefore very reactive.
Principal polar solvents aprotic
- Ketone: Acetone, Methyl ethyl ketone;
- sulfoxides: Diméthylsulfoxyde;
- amine NR, NR disubstituted: DMF;
- nitrile: Acétonitrile;
- Ester S: Acetate of ethyl;
- tertiary amine: Triéthylamine;
- nitrogenized heterocycle: Pyridine;
- ether: Diéthyléther, THF, Diglyme, Triglyme;
- chlorinated solvents: Dichlorométhane, Chloroform.
