Pokeshaw
Pokeshaw (pronunciation: pok-cat) is the name given to a Lieu-dit like with its Hameau, its Rocher, its Parc and its two Rivière S. the locality is located in the area of the Capes, in the Comté of Gloucester, in the North-East of the New Brunswick.
The locality belongs to the parish of New Bandon. It is located at the crossing of the road 11 and the road 135, in top of Falaise S, at the edge of the Baie of Heats.
In the small estuary formed by the Rivière Pokeshaw the rock of Pokeshaw is, measuring approximately 90 meters by 40 meters and directed North-South. The rock shelters a colony of Cormoran S. the trees on the rock took on fire in 1994, because of the Guano.
The provincial park of Pokeshaw includes/understands several rock formations of which the rock and a not supervised beach. It is a site of observation of birds. Because of budgetary cuts, is now managed by a third party.
The Petite River Pokeshaw flows with approximately a kilometer in the west of the park.
